For generations, the Islamic world has been blessed with an exceptionally rich, beautifully developed tradition of educational resources. Rooted natively in Arabic, these texts and curricula have guided students across Eastern nations in their understanding of the Deen for centuries.
In recent years, we have witnessed a beautiful evolution: these foundational Islamic works are increasingly being developed and translated into English, making their way into classrooms and homes across North America. This is an incredible milestone for our community, and an effort we wholeheartedly support and celebrate.
But as educators looking at the holistic development of our students, we must ask: what comes next?
The Next Frontier: Beyond Islamic Studies
At RISE, our vision takes this progress one step further. We recognize a critical, unfilled gap in the North American educational landscape. While our students now have access to excellent English-language materials for Islamic Studies, they spend the vast majority of their school day immersed in general academics—reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
Too often, these secular subjects are completely divorced from the values we hold dear. Students are forced to switch contexts: learning about faith in one class, and learning about the world in another.
Our mission is to bridge this divide. We want to platform resources that bring Islamic stories, philosophies, and character-building directly into the normalized academic curriculum.
Embedding Adab and Akhlaq
True Islamic education is not just about memorizing facts; it is about Adab (etiquette and proper conduct) and Akhlaq (moral character and ethics).
When a student learns English literature, can the narratives they analyze reinforce Akhlaq? When they study history or science, can the underlying philosophy instill Adab? By weaving these concepts directly into regular, required academic studies, we enable students to deeply connect with their Islamic identity while seamlessly progressing in their standard education.
Built From the Ground Up
This is not about simply slapping an Islamic label on a standard textbook. It requires meticulous, thoughtful curriculum design. We are looking to platform works that are built from the ground up by experts who are deeply rooted in both standard academia and Islamic tradition.
By filling this gap with high-quality, meticulously aligned materials, we can create classrooms where academic excellence and spiritual grounding are no longer two separate paths, but one unified journey.
